National Latino AIDS Awareness Day 2015

October 15, 2015

Today, AIDSVu recognizes National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD). On this day of awareness and education, we are reminded that more than 10,000 Hispanics and Latinos are newly diagnosed with HIV each year. While we continue to make progress in the fight against HIV, the CDC reports that less than half of the U.S. Hispanic/Latino population has been tested for HIV.

To make an impact this National Latino AIDS Awareness Day, commit to one of these actions:

  • Educate others – Share this infographic from AIDSVu to raise awareness of the impact of HIV on the Hispanic/Latino community using the hashtag #NLAAD.
  • View the maps – Explore the interactive maps on AIDSVu to see what HIV looks like where you live. You can filter by different demographics, including age, race, and sex, for a better understanding of the epidemic.
  • Get tested – The only way to know if you have HIV is to get tested. Find your local testing center today.
