National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day 2018

According to CDC, 1 in 6 gay and bisexual men living with HIV are unaware of their status, underscoring the need to expand HIV education, testing, and prevention services. On September 27th, AIDSVu recognizes National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and encourages anyone at risk for HIV to get tested and know their status.

a The term male-to-male sexual contact is used in CDC surveillance systems. It indicates a behavior that transmits HIV infection, not how individuals self-identify in terms of their sexuality. For this awareness day, AIDSVu uses the term gay and bisexual men.
